About
I'm David. This site is a personal log of every museum I've visited — across NYC and on trips beyond. I rate everything on a 0–3 scale and write a short note when one stuck with me. Hopefully the next update will be from East Asia.

The rating scale
- 33 — Don't missMust visit. Exceptional experience.
- 22 — Worth a stopWorth visiting. A good experience.
- 11 — InterestingInteresting but not essential.
- 00 — SkipSkip. I went, you should not.
- -1-1 — AwfulAwful. Used sparingly for the rare disaster.
A blank “would revisit” means: I considered it and would not return. The list is exhaustive — every museum I've been to is here.
How I rate
- Size of the collection
- How the collection is displayed
- Cost
- Focus of the museum
- General interest
For NYC museums
I also track inconvenience on a 0–5 scale, measured against the Upper West Side and weighted by hours of operation:
- 0–1 — Easy
- 2–3 — Moderate
- 4–5 — Hard (Snug Harbor territory)
The list also includes a handful of bridges and monuments — they were worth visiting and worth rating.
